Better Blind Company Limited is a growing business that places particular emphasis on automation, specifically integration with KNX building automation technologies. Better Blind Company manufacture, supply and install automated solar shading solutions to both the commercial and residential sectors.
We undertake projects ranging in size from single unit installations to large scale contracts, such as the survey, manufacture and installation of c. 400 automated cassette roller blinds to 109 luxury residential apartments within Central St. Giles. Supplying the main contractor, United House, our automated blinds utilise Somfy motors and controls and offer ultra quiet operation, precision control and uniform appearance by enabling guaranteed alignment on a virtually unlimited number of intermediate positions. At Central St. Giles, our automated blinds are integrated with a Smart Homes automation system using KNX technology.
Other automation clients include the Environment Agency, Galliard Homes and WWRD (Waterford Wedgwood and Royal Doulton).
Our aim is to position Better Blind Company Limited at the leading edge of solar shading automation, by working in partnership with other KNX UK members, to enable a turn-key solution to be offered to clients that includes KNX Ready solar shading.
In addition to premium user experience and comfort, our KNX Ready solar shading offers energy savings, especially where used as part of a holistic approach to energy intelligent automation of HVAC, lighting and solar shading. This enables compliance with Part L building regulations. Better Blind Company is able to offer energy performance modelling that compares the energy and cost savings provided by different combinations of glazing, shading product types and fabrics.
